Synopsis

Without women nothing is possible for men. A woman is the basic unit of society. A country cannot progress until and unless its women take initiatives for development works. The spread of education and self-consciousness among women has led to their progress over the period. Indian women are relatively disempowered and they enjoy lower status than that of men from times immemorial. During British rule, lots of changes were made in the economic and social structure of our society. Through the quality of life of women during this period remained more or less the same, some substantial progress was achiever eliminating inequalities between men and women. Revolutionary changes have taken place in the status of Indian women during independence movement.
