Synopsis

Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and landslides, have the potential to cause catastrophic damage to buildings and infrastructure, resulting in loss of life and economic damage. It is therefore imperative that structures are designed and constructed to be resistant to these events. Disaster-resistant structures are those that can withstand the forces of natural disasters and protect the occupants and contents inside.
