Synopsis

The brinjal, Solanum melongena L. is one of the most important vegetable crops widely grown in tropics. It is, known as king of vegetables, highly susceptible to a wide variety of insect-pests. Among various pests infesting the S. melongena, brinjal shoot and fruit borer (BSFB), whitefly, and jassid are the most significant pests while epilachna beetle is of minor importance.
