Synopsis

The craft of handloom weaving endures as a monument to tradition, skill, and cultural legacy in a time when enormous technological developments and mass manufacturing rule the textile industry. By examining this complex and timeless art form from many angles, this book aims to shed light on its significant cultural, economic, and social components in addition to its technical ones. Through a variety of lenses, this book attempts to provide a thorough analysis of handloom weaving. Each chapter explores a different aspect of the craft, such as the historical background of weaving techniques, the social and economic effects on communities, and the environmental aspects of sustainable practices. We also examine the craft's aesthetics and craftsmanship, emphasizing the beauty and artistry inherent in each weave.
